The literature on teachers' linking teems with metaphors, occasionally inconsistent, often conflicting, about what teachers are or would be. These metaphors correspond to two different approaches, a descriptive/prescriptive one and about teacher's rationality or arationality. We describe first teachers as professionals vs reflective practitioners, then with a tylerian-based approach of planning vs a problem-solving approach ; finally, teachers as decision-makers.
