Previous studies have suggested cortical involvement in postural control in humans by measuring cortical activities and conducting dual-task paradigms. In dual-task paradigms, task performance deteriorates and can be facilitated in specific dual-task settings. Theoretical frameworks explaining these dual-task interactions have been proposed and debated for decades.
