Iron and power politics : the iron and steel policy of the Foix counts (XIII-XV centuries). From the end of the XIII. century to the beginning of the XV. the Foix counts were able to work out a real iron and steel policy inside an area particularly affluent in an ore with a high percentage of iron. This policy built up in a favourable context, since, during the One-Hundrer-Year War, the county held a real regional monopoly if the production, is partly at the origin of the Foix-Bearn house and of the assertion of its sway on either side of the Pyrenees. But by mid- fifteenth century and the resumption of commercial competition, the Count failed to modify his policy and adapt it to the new economic context.De la fin du XII le siècle au début...
