The blast furnace at Savignac-Lecrier (24) : an instance of industrial archeology. With its blast furnace fuelled by charcoal, the last one to be so, the Savignac-Ledrier smelting works appears as an historic relic. The site constitutes a conservatory of buildings and machinery classified H.M. : now restored, a project for its valorization is being contemplated. Archeological intervention in the form of excavations, plottings and studies in technical functioning, illuminates the history of the site and provides orientation for a cultural project.
