Analyses of potter’s ribs shaped on sherds from southeastern Chassey contexts enable us to present a morphological and fonctional descriptive framework allowing them to be identified among a ceramic corpus and get to grips with their functions. A case study from the Neolithic site of TepecikÇiftlik (Central Anatolia) contributes to the discussion by describing the use of those specific potters’ ribs within a complex chaîne opératoire involving a basketry mould.Les analyses d’estèques du Chasséen provençal permettent de proposer un cadre descriptif de la morphologie de ces outils ainsi que des traces d’usure qui s’y développent.
