This work presents the results of the excavation of an Azilian open air site in Limagne (Auvergne). The site corresponds to an accumulation of lithic artefacts around a dismantled combustion structure, composed of pebbles. The raw materials used are mainly local (Oligocene flint) and exploited according to unipolar and bipolar blade knapping methods intended to produce rectilinear blades, of which an important proportion was exported. Tools are few and related to hunting activities. The Varennes settlement can be considered as a short-term installation for hunters where the main activities correspond to the production of supports for later use, and the retouching and maintenance of hunting weapons.Ce travail présente les résultats de la fou...
