La diffusion de la Regula pastoralis de Grégoire le Grand dans l'Église de Cambrai, une première enquête.

The Diffusion of Gregory The Great's Regula Pastoralis in the Cambrai Church, a first investigation. Pope Gregory The Great's (590-604) Regula Pastoralis is a guide to life and predication addressed to the bishops. As early as the Higher Middle Ages, this treatise was diffused on a wide scale. How was it received and used in the Cambrai Church down to the XIth century ? Several documents allow indeed to follow the destiny of the Pastoral in this vast diocese from the VIIIth century at least to the XIth. The Carolingian times prepare elements which are to be found later at the beginning of the XIth century in Bishop Gérard I. This latter is well known particularly thanks to the Gesta espiscoporum cameracensium. Thus one can collect a file of documents connected with Gérard I and witnessing a precise use of the Pastoral. This concerns also at least one manuscript found in Marchiennes and which might have been used by Gérard himself and along which short texts were added to Gregory's treatise in a context which seems to be directly connected to the major issues (peace, heresy) which shook Gérard I's episcopate.La Regula Pastoralis ou Pastoral du pape Grégoire le Grand (590-604) est un guide de vie et de prédication destiné aux évêques. Dès le haut Moyen Age ce traité a connu une grande diffusion. Comment a-t-il été reçu et utilisé dans l'Église de Cambrai jusqu'au XIe siècle ? Plusieurs documents permettent de suivre le destin du Pastoral dans ce vaste diocèse depuis le VIIIe siècle au moins jusqu'au XIe siècle. L'époque carolingienne prépare des éléments qui se retrouvent ensuite au début du XIe siècle chez l'évêque Gérard Ier. Ce dernier est bien connu en particulier par les Gesta episcoporum cameracensium. Or on peut rassembler un dossier de textes liés à Gérard et manifestant une utilisation précise du Pastoral. Ceci concerne aussi au moins un manuscrit provenant de Marchiennes qui pourrait avoir été utilisé par Gérard lui-même et sur lequel des textes brefs ont été ajoutés au traité de Grégoire dans un contexte qui paraît être directement celui des grandes causes (la paix, l'hérésie) qui agitèrent l'épiscopat de Gérard Ier.De verspreiding van de Regula Pastoralis van Gregorius de Grote in de kerk van Kamerijk, een eerste onderzoek. De Regula Pastoralis of Pastoraal van paus Gregorius de Grote (590-604) is een gids voor het leven en de prediking van de bisschoppen. Dit traktaat kende van in de vroege middeleeuwen een grote verspreiding. Hoe werd het ontvangen en gebruikt in de kerkgemeenschap van Kamerijk tot in de XIe eeuw ? Aan de hand van een reeks dokumenten kan men nagaan hoe het Pastoraal gebruikt werd in dit zeer grote bisdom van de VIIIe tot de XIe eeuw. In de karolingische tijd komen elementen naar voor die men later aantreft bij bisschop Gerard I in het begin van de xie eeuw. Hij is bekend uit de Gesta episcoporum cameracensium. Uit een aantal teksten over Gerard I blijkt op welke manier het Pastoraal gebruikt werd. Het betreft hier ook een handschrift afkomstig uit Marchiennes dat misschien door Gerard zelf gebruikt werd en waarin korte teksten toegevoegd werden aan het traktaat van Gregorius, in een kontekst met betrekking tot de grote vragen (vrede, ketterij) die zijn ambtsperiode tekenden.Judic Bruno.
