The eponymity in Greek cities of Asia Minor is here discussed as a phenomenon closely connected with the administrative systems of these cities. The author argues that genuine reasons for the choice of this or that system of dating particular events and documents by the Greek cities of Asia Minor depended on the level of administration to which this event or document was relevant.
