Structure territoriale et réseau urbain. Le cas du comté de Lippe à la fin du dix-huitième siècle.

Territorial structures and urban network are intricately and multifariously intertwined. This article is an attempt at surveying the interference between territorial reality and urban relays in the case of a small territory in the northwest of Germany. Through a comparison with a matrix of urban functions, it shows that the Lippe County displays some fundamental irregularities affecting both the production and the trading sectors. Although the territory is relatively highly urbanised, the urban network assumes mostly cultural and secundary functions while integrating itself rather closely within the hierarchically higher ranking level of the region at large, the Lippe County presenting itself quite intentionaly as an open territory at the borders of which commercial currents are hardly disturbed.Structure territoriale et réseau urbain entretiennent dans l'Allemagne moderne des rapports complexes et multiples. L'article tente d'analyser l'interférence entre le fait territorial et les relais urbains pour le cas d'un petit territoire dans le nord- ouest de l'Allemagne. Il montre à partir d'une matrice des fonctions urbaines qu'il existe dans le cas du Comté de Lippe plusieurs déséquilibres fondamentaux qui affectent autant la sphère de la production que celle des échanges. Bien que le territoire soit assez fortement urbanisé, le réseau urbain a essentiellement des fonctions culturelles et secondaires tout en s'intégrant assez étroitement dans le réseau hiérarchiquement supérieur de la région élargie, le comté de Lippe se présentant très intentionnellement comme un territoire ouvert aux frontières duquel les flux commerciaux ne rencontrent guère d'obstacles.In het hedendaagse Duitsland bestaat er een complex en veelzijdig verband tussen territoriale structuur en stedennet. Men probeert hier een analyse te maken van de wisselwerking tussen stad en land aan de hand van het voorbeeld van een klein gewest in Nordwest-Duitsland. Er bestaan in het graafschap Lippe verschillende onevenwichten van fundamentele aard, zowel op het gebied van de productie als van het handelsverkeer. Het gebied is weliswaar tamelijk sterk verstedelijkt, maar deze steden geïntegreerd in het hiërarchisch hogere net van het verruimde gewest : het graafschap Lippe is immers een streek die oper staat voor de handelstromen die men zeker niet wil belemmeren.Bulst Neithard, Hoock Jochen.
