Une approche de la transformation numérique par l’analyse conjointe de l’adoption des innovations, de la transformation organisationnelle et des paradoxes : le cas d’une organisation de gestion des archives

This thesis explores the process of digital transformation, analyzing the case of ecommerce. E-commerce is defined as the transactional exchange of products or services between organization and customer ororganizations (B2B) (Ngai and Watt, 2002). After having identified the gaps in the literature and proposed avenues of research following impementation of e-commerce, we study the case of a company offering archiving services integrating digital technologies.We analyze how the adoption of the digital technological innovation introduces an organizational transformation, and in a second time, what dynamics a paradoxical perspective reveals on the transformation. Our results show that adoption of digital technological innovation and advanced digital services appear articulated through adecoupling phase, activated to secure the necessary resources and learning time.Our research tackles the regulating strategy of the entangled knot formed by both paradoxes of performance and organization. Operating a temporal and geographical splitting, the organization manages to regulate the technical knot. But the splitting strategy feeds the paradox of belonging both for employees and management.Our analysis brings multiple theoretical contributions that we will detail.Cette thèse par essais comporte trois revues de littérature et deux articles fondés sur une étude de cas unique. La thèse explore le processus de transformation numérique, en étudiant le cas particulier du commerceélectronique. Le commerce électronique est défini comme échange transactionnel de produits ou services entre organisation et client ou organisations (B2B) (Ngai et Watt, 2002).Après avoir identifié les lacunes de la littérature et proposé des pistes de recherche autour de l’étude du commerce électronique, nous étudions de manière approfondie le cas d’une entreprise qui offre des prestations d’archivage intégrant des technologies numériques.Nous analysons comment s’opère l'articulation de l’adoption d'innovation technologique numérique à une transformation organisationnelle, et dans un deuxième temps, quelles dynamiques une perspective paradoxalerévèle sur la transformation numérique. Nos résultats montrent qu’adoption de l’innovation technologique numérique et prestations numériques avancées apparaissent articulées à travers une phase de découplage, activée pour sécuriser les ressources nécessaires et le temps d’apprentissage.En approfondissement, notre recherche a mis à jour la stratégie de gestion organisationnelle du nœud enchevêtré formé par les paradoxes de performance et d’organisation. Opérant une différenciation temporelle et géographique, ou scission, et s’appuyant sur des compétences en sous-traitance, l’organisation parvient à régulerle nœud technique. Mais la scission alimente le paradoxe d’identification des employés et même de la direction.Notre analyse apporte de multiples contributions théoriques que nous détaillerons
