L'habitat F des Sausses (Séguret, Vaucluse). Aspects de la petite exploitation paysanne sous le Haut-Empire autour de Vaison-la-Romaine

The "F" settlement at Sausses (Séguret, Vaucluse). Aspects of small farming exploitation throughout the Early Roman Empire in the Vaison-la-Romaine area. Jointly to an enquiry about the antique occupation of the territories in the Séguret area, the recent excavation of home structures in the Sausses vale anabled to unearth a small farm of about 250 square meters . Founded at the turn of the Christian era, the dwelling appear to have lasted up to towards 150-1 70A.D. A detailed architectural analysis show an extension of the main dwelling by successive addition of annex rooms. It also emphasizes the character essentially agricultural of the whole structure. The techniques of construction employed show a continuity of prehistorical practice, while assimilating simultaneously the newer methods. The farm thus explored is enclosed in a group often other ones relatively proximate. This publication- which is a promise for others-brings to mind a number of questions concerning the composition and the variety of settling customs in the Vaison-la-Romaine territories at the beginning of Early Roman Empire.Conjointement à une enquête sur l'occupation antique des terroirs dans la région de Séguret, la fouille récente de structures d'habitat dans le vallon des Sausses nous permet désormais d'appréhender une petite exploitation paysanne d'une superficie d'environ 250 m2. Fondée autour du changement d'ère, cette unité d'habitation paraît avoir existé jusque vers 150-170. Son analyse architecturale détaillée montre un agrandissement du corps principal par l'ajouts successifs d'autres espaces annexes et souligne le caractère essentiellement agricole de l'ensemble. Les technologies mises en œuvre s'inscrivent globalement dans la continuité des pratiques protohistoriques tout en assimilant les nouveaux apports contemporains. La "ferme" étudiée est incluse dans un ensemble de dix autres relativement proches. Cette publication (qui en annonce d'autres) pose une série d'interrogations sur la composition et la variété des modes d'implantation dans les terroirs de la région de Vaison-la-Romaine au début du Haut-Empire.Meffre Joël-Claude.
