The concept of multiple discrimination firstly elaborated in the field of social sciences, tends today to emerge within the legal order. The challenge lies in the recognition and the legal sanction of situations in which occur and might interact several grounds of discrimination. Nevertheless, the reception of this concept in law-especially in labour law-faces several kinds of problems. Problems of definition, first, since the concept appears to be proteiform. This can explain the fact that, at this time, no accurate definition is to be found in international and national legislations.
