B. Lefebvre, Religious observance and Constitutional Church, the case of Dengremont, vicar of Sin-le-Noble, 1791-1801. This is the quantitative survey of the records of the baptisms to which the sworn-in vicar proceeded between 1795 and 1801. Dengremont seems to have been a vicar of low origins who saw in his support of the Constitutional Church a kind of promotion ; his parish was a village of relatively poor peasants in the neighbourhood of Douai. The comparison between the total number of child-births and that of the baptisms performed by the vicar shows that he baptized on the whole 57% of the children, the yearly figures undergoing the following evolution : 1795 : 68% ; 1796 : 80% ; 1797 : 82§ ; 1798 : 72§ ;1799 : 80% ; 1800 : 66§ ; 1...
