Miscellanées augustiniennes

The nine publications presented in this notice belong to various scopes of the latest research on Saint Augustine. The "Dossiers H" devote to the Doctor of Hippo a much debated volume, intended to account for "the multiplicity , polyvalency, and even ambiguousness of Augustine 's work". In a small book, N. Lanzi is interested in Augustinian ecclesiology. Two collective volumes present the results of scientific meetings held in Italy for the 1986 and 1987 Augustinian anniversaries of Augustine 's baptism and present a few aspects discussed concerning his political and pastoral attitude. In a difficult but stimulating book G. Lettieri proposes a reflection on Saint Augustine 's sense of history. The works against Manicheans have been recently published in the Obras complétas de san Agustin, whereas the "Bibliothèque Augustinienne" collection has completed the publishing of the Tractatus in Iohannis evangelium. And lastly, the collection "Lectio Augustini" from Pavia publishes two new commentaries on De musica and De libero arbitrio.Deproost Paul-Augustin. Miscellanées augustiniennes.
