Abstract. - In less than 25 years, the Republic of Korea (R.O.K.) became a newly industrial country of first importance. Rural life has been deeply modified but still depends mostly on perfectly worked riceland. The small village of SU CHEONG, in Kyongsangnam-Do, is an example of both ancient and modern rural life.Résumé. - En moins d'un quart de siècle, la République de Corée est devenue un N.P.I, de première grandeur.
