The author analyses the relations between drought, the dessication of soils, the low-flow of rivers and the drying up of brooks. The low-flow period or hydrological indigence is divi- ded into two seasons : hydrological summer during which evapo- transpiration exceeds rains, hydrological autumn during which soils keep pluviometrical surplus.
