Le mariage du prophète Osée (Osée 1, 2) dans la littérature patristique

The article tries to outline the history of the patristic interpretation of the prophet Osea by the example of verse 1 : 2 with the divine call that the prophet shall take « a woman of prostitutions » (LXX). The patristic litterature knows three full commentaries of the twelve prophets with an interpretation of the prophet Osea and an innumerable quantity of quotations and allusions taken from this book. The main characteristics of the Christian history of exegesis follow the typological interpretation in the sense of promise and fulfilment by Irenaios of Lyon and Origen. The scandalous relation represents for the Christian exegesis a challenge : the prostitute Gomer becomes a « typos » of the Church gathered from all the peoples. The Greek version of the Hebrew Bible was the Bible of the Greek-speaking Fathers and there they looked for a christological or ecclesiastical meaning.La contribution esquisse à grands traits l'histoire de l'exégèse patristique du prophète Osée par l'exemple du verset 1, 2 avec l'appel de Dieu que le prophète prenne « une femme de prostitution » (LXX). La litté rature patristique possède trois commentaires continus du Dodekapropheton avec l'exégèse d'Osée et un nombre incalculable de citations et d'allusions tirées de ce livre. Les traits principaux de l'histoire exégétique chrétienne suivent les données de l'interprétation typologique dans le sens du modèle de la promesse et de l'accomplissement d'Irénée de Lyon et d'Origène. La liaison scandaleuse représente pour l'exégèse chrétienne un défi : la prostituée Gomer devient un « typos » de l'Église de tous les peuples. La version grecque de la Bible hébraïque était la Bible des Pères hellénophones et ils en cherchaient surtout un sens christologique ou ecclésiologique.Kessler Stephan Ch.
