Dielectric capacitors possess an intrinsic high power density but they suffer to the low energy density with commercial dielectrics. Tremendous efforts have ever been devoted to enhance the energy density of polymers by increasing the permittivity via incorporating high-k or high-conductivity nanoparticles into polymers. A giant permittivity can be indeed attained duo to the significant enhancement of local internal electric field inside composites. Paradoxically, this usually causes a steep decrease in breakdown strength. As a result, the subsequent increase in permittivity could not make up this decrease and yields a lower energy density relative to the virgin polymer.
