Élaboration d’optiques infrarouges à base de verre de chalcogénures à indice de réfraction élevé par combinaison de la mécanosynthèse et du frittage flash (SPS)

The production price of chalcogenide glasses, linked to the use of single-use silica during synthesis, is an obstacle to their democratization. In the context of the European project HELIAUS, research has been carried out to obtain infrared lenses by combining mechanosynthesis and flash sintering by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS). Compliance with the REACH standard and the need for a high refractive index (n>3) impose additional constraints on the choice of composition. Ga₁₀Ge₁₅Te₇₅ glass was initially considered. Mechanosynthesis tests led to the production of an amorphous powder containing a GeTe crystalline phase. The sintering of this powder gives opaque samples in the infrared because of the presence of additional crystallizations of Ga₂Te₃ and Te. The rest of the study focused on the Ge-Se-Te system.The composition Ge₂₅Se₁₀Te₆₅was selected for its physical and thermal properties. An amorphous phase containing crystalline GeTe is obtained by mechanosynthesis. SPS sintering tests were carried out on powders of this glass produced by conventional synthesis to optimize the sintering parameters. Samples presenting a transmission comparable to the initial glass are thus obtained, in several shapes and sizes. Finally, several compositions of the Ge-Se-Te system were synthesized by the classical route and ground to study their stability during grinding. Those results make it possible to anticipate the result of a mechanosynthesis test on the corresponding composition. Three compositions, Ge₂₅Se₁₅Te₆₀, Ge₂₁Se₁₁Te₆₀ and Ge₂₀Se₁₀Te₇₀ are identified as having increased resistance to crystallization. Dans le contexte du projet européen HELIAUS, des recherches ont étés menées afin d’obtenir des lentilles infrarouges en combinant mécanosynthèse et frittage flash par Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS). Le respect de la norme REACH et le besoin d’un indice de réfraction élevé (n>3) imposent des contraintes supplémentaires quant au choix de composition. Le verre Ga₁₀Ge₁₅Te₇₅ a été initialement considéré. Les essais de mécanosynthèse ont mené à l’obtention d’une poudre amorphe contenant une phase cristalline GeTe. Le frittage de cette poudre donne des échantillons opaques dans l’infrarouge car présentant des cristallisations supplémentaires de Ga₂Te₃ et Te. La suite de l’étude a portée sur le système Ge-Se-Te. La composition Ge₂₅Se₁₀Te₆₅ est sélectionnée pour ses propriétés physiques et thermiques. Une phase amorphe contenant du GeTe cristallin est obtenue par mécanosynthèse. Des essais de frittage SPS ont été réalisés sur des poudres de ce verre produit par synthèse classique pour optimiser les paramètres de frittage. Des échantillons présentant une transmission comparable au verre initial sont ainsi obtenus, dans plusieurs formes et tailles. Enfin, plusieurs compositions du système Ge-Se-Te ont été synthétisées par voie classique et broyées pour étudier leur stabilité au cours du broyage. Ces résultats permettent d’anticiper le résultat d’un essai de mécanosynthèse sur la composition correspondante. Trois compositions, Ge₂₅Se₁₅Te₆₀, Ge₂₁Se₁₁Te₆₀ et Ge₂₀Se₁₀Te₇₀ sont identifiées comme ayant une résistance accrue à la cristallisation.
