Application of Graphic Communications: Increasing the Functionality of the Aplington-Parkersburg School District Website

In the Graphic Communications program at UNI, the main focus is on print production. I decided to use my thesis as an opportunity to further explore and become familiar with digital media creation. I feel that strengthening these skills will be a valuable asset to my career development. There is a high demand for businesses and organizations to sustain an online presence. Companies also use digital media in their marketing campaigns and communication pieces. The theme of real world application is also emphasized in the graphic communications program. Instructors relate the curriculum to the industry as a whole or a specific working environment. Many times, class projects are simulations of working with a customer to develop and deliver a product.
