Some further observations on the composition changes of ceramics in the course of time : case of some alkaline metals and metals of the alkaline earths. Bear in mind that calcareous ceramics strongly over fired are particularly sensitive to the leaching phenomena. The latter have resulted in elimination of a very important part of potassium, and barium also. The show up of an unstable vitreous phase rich in potassium (and also in barium) explains undoubtedly this particular sensitivity to the leaching of calcareous ceramics strongly over fired. Phenomena of fixation, apparently much slower than the previous phenomena, take place then. They may affect Na, Mg, Zn, Sr, Ba and may be Pb.
