The Mediterranean littoral of Nice area and western Liguria provided numerous fossil sea levels linked or not with archaeological sites and dating from the Lower Pleistocene to the Holocene. Sites containing quaternary marine deposits are a mixed of pebbles, sands and sea shells. They can actually be found at an altitude varying from 2 m to 110 m above the sea level. These fossil sea shores shows a double interest : Concerning overlying archaeological levels, a relative chronology can be established (lazaret etc..) They are also stratigraphie references which allow the reconstruction of the Quaternary environment and a better understanding of tectonic.Le littoral méditerranéen de la région de Nice et de la Ligurie occidentale a livré...
