Indisputably, landscape is one of the key-words of our geographical inheritance. Its analysis did change from time to time according to technical progress. At the same time the interest invested in the subject waxed or waned when the significance and relevance of the notion was questioned. More recently in the field of applied geography, environment assessing led to an uneasy partnership between traditional scientific objectivism and subjectivism related to the particular taste of our time.
