Recent collective researches shed a new light on the occupation of a Toulouse block of houses which was progressively conquered and remodelled by the Saint-John of-Jerusalem Hospitaliers. This first approach rests on the XIth centrury practice acts which are used for graphic restitutions or “ neighbourhood schemes” between land properties. It shows at the same time the long duration of the road system inherited from Antiquity and the changes due to the installation of the brothers following an extraordinary expansion of their establishment from the inside of the block of houses to the outside.
