The present work is an unfolding of a thesis investigation linked to a Graduate Program in Education at a federal university located in the north of Brazil. The objective is to describe school practices mobilizing historical knowledge and its uses in the practical dimensions of life, the locus in which this knowledge takes effect in different language games, considering sociocultural practices that transgress linear uses of time and mnemonic-mechanistic conceptions that generate empirical and verificationist approaches in the context of teaching History in basic education.
