Nowadays, due to the social and learning context, it takes more than the objective knowledge of the subjects, on the part of teachers. New skills related to communication and leadership are required. The objective of this research was to develop an instrument to evaluate the profile in relation to the leadership of the teaching staff of a Veterinary Medicine course, at an University in the state of São Paulo. A structured questionnaire was applied, composed of 5 domains to assess leadership skills. The construct was considered reliable and made it possible to evaluate the characteristics and leadership skills that prevailed in the faculty members, as well as other aspects that should be emphasized.
