Statique, cinématique et dynamique en cartographie géomorphologique

Summary When the present evolution of formations is measureable, it would be desirable if this evolution could be indicated in the data given by geomorphologicat maps. If we accept this idea, maps will have to indicate developments of formations in a given space of time, known as the « chronological interval », in addition to static formations and their material composition. This cinematic description can be applied to topography as welt as to the composition of rocks. It should be completed by a cinematic treatment of the formations which is more qualitative than quantitative. The correlation between the cinematic description and the factors of the morphogenesis constitutes the aim of dynamics. The geomorphology of the littorals of alluvial regions supplies an exceptional opportunity for this type of cartography, as a result of its rapid development and the individual nature of its morphogenetic agents : - wash, backwash, tides, wind, etc.Résumé Lorsque l'évolution actuelle des formes est mesurable, il serait souhaitable d'introduire cette évolution dans les données des cartes géomorphologiques. Si l'on adopte cette conception, les cartes comprennent outre la description statique des formes et de leur matériel, celte des mouvements des formes au cours d'un laps donné de temps appelé « intervalle chronologique ». Cette description cinématique peut s'appliquer à la topographie ou au matériel rocheux. Elle doit être complétée par une cinématique des formes plus qualitative que quantitative. La corrélation entre la cinématique et les facteurs de la morphogénèse constitue l'objet de ta dynamique. La géomorphologie littorale des régions alluviales fournit un champ d'application particulièrement favorable à une telle cartographie, par suite de son évolution rapide et de l'individualisation des agents morphogénétiques : houle, marée, vent, etc.Verger Fernand.
