This article represents a synthesis of a doctoral research carried out in Ghent (Belgium), as part of he European ERC project Children in Comics, focusing on the first 15 years of two children’s comics magazines, Corriere dei Piccoli (Milan) and TBO (Barcelona). The study compares two magazines with different editorial features, though united by longevity. This aspect means that, in both countries, the two magazines come to constitute the dominant model of weekly children’s comics magazines, with both magazines being published throughout the Twentieth century (from 1908 to 1990 and from 1917 to 1998, respectively, with interruptions).
