French society's well-being and the French economy's growth and accumulation rates were intimately linked to the world economy. French relations to Central America reflected this pursuit of well-being and security. All metropoles assumed that Central America was capable of joining two inefficiently linked half worlds into one efficient economic System which would facilitate world accumulation.
