In this contribution, we propose a novel code-aided channel tracking and carrier frequency offset (CFO) and/or phase noise (PN) estimation algorithm for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Starting from the maximum-likelihood (NIL) principle, we derive a low complexity estimator based on the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm. It turns out that the estimator receives soft information from the channel decoder to refine the CFO, PN, and channel estimates.
