In spite of the authorities' hostility and the elites' reserve, the song to the oudaw's glory crosses epochs and maintains a long-lasting popularity in Spanish speaking countries. This article proposes to establish a path from the so called «vulgar» romance in XVIIIth century Spain until the current narcocorrido, through the scrutiny of works realised by several folklorists and scholars.Malgré l'hostilité des pouvoirs publics et la réticence des élites, le chant à la gloire du hors-la-loi traverse les époques et maintient une popularité durable dans les pays de langue espagnole.
