The idea is spreading at the moment that Pausanias' Greece is undivided and derives, despite regional diversity, from a global vision. Several scholars thus propose a "unitary" conception of the Periegesis, of which the aim would be to describe "Greek identity". But can one attribute a feeling of panhellenism to Pausanias ? Is what is common to Greeks more important in his eyes than what divides them ?
