The influence of work conditions on take-up of parental childcare leave. An economic analysis of female employment behaviour. Conventional economic analysis of work-related choices is generally based on a comparison of the financial rewards of employment versus nonemployment. In this framework, the effect of a family policy measure such as the childcare leave allowance (Allocation Parentale d''Education-APE) for the second child appears as a short-term financial incentive to labour force withdrawal, notably for women living in a couple.
