Información turística online en las webs oficiales de las capitales de provincia del Ecuador

The objective of this study was to describe the online tourist information presented on the official websites of the provincial capitals of Ecuador. The initial phase entailed verifying the existence of online tourist information on the web portals endorsed and administered by the Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GAD) of each destination under investigation, accomplished through scrutiny of their respective URL links. Subsequently, the second phase encompassed the evaluation of the tourist information by considering six parameters: homepage layout (pertaining to the arrangement of tourist information), languages, content, social media presence, mobile applications, and geolocation of the tourism offerings. The findings indicated that the majority of provincial capital GAD lack a dedicated webpage exclusively devoted to tourist information, with such information instead residing solely within links embedded within municipal pages, which serve a general-purpose encompassing all administrative functions of the local government. Furthermore, it was observed that the majority of the tourist information is available solely in a single language. Moreover, the destinations under study do not possess mobile applications that encompass comprehensive information pertaining to the tourism offerings.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo describir la información turística online que se presenta en las webs oficiales de las capitales de provincia del Ecuador. La investigación fue de tipo cualitativo con un alcance descriptivo, compuesta de dos fases. En la primera parte, se realizó la verificación de la existencia de la información online turística en los portales web avalados y administrados por los Gobiernos Autónomos Descentralizados (GAD) de cada uno de los destinos que fueron objeto de estudio a través de sus enlaces URL. En la segunda fase, se realizó la evaluación de la información turística tomando en cuenta seis parámetros: página de inicio (disposición de información turística), idiomas, contenido, redes sociales, app móvil y geolocalización de oferta turística. Se pudo evidenciar que la mayoría de los GAD capitales de provincia no disponen de una página web exclusiva para información turística, encontrándose la información solo en enlaces que se encuentran dentro de las páginas de los municipios los cuales tienen un uso general para todas las gestiones que realiza el gobierno seccional. Además, la mayor parte de la información turística solo se encuentra en un solo idioma, sumado a lo anterior, los destinos no cuentan con aplicación móviles que cuenten con información realizada a la oferta turístic
