Habitat et genèse villageoise du haut Moyen Age. Exemple d'un terroir du biterrois nord-oriental [L'exemple d'un terroir du Bitterois nord-oriental]

The extensive study of a communal local seulement of the central Languedoc region, allows the steps of the medieval village structuring to be evoked. The future of the main establishment of the late antiquity, like the perched Carolingian church, the «villa cum turre», the «castrum», the priory, the «villa» and the monastic parish, constitute steps that the inquiry intends to describe, by means of a diversified approach (study of texts and land registers of the XIXth century, surface survey, monument analysis, toponymy). This work joins in other respects the study of a micro-region : the Lodévois (region of Lodève) and the north-eastern enclave of the Béliers viscountey. This work aims to reveal the role of the big monasteries of Aniane and Gellone, in the elaboration of the village structure and the local parish, by moderating the castle influence in its capacity to regroup the seulement. On these transition lands between the littoral coast and the mountainous hinterland, between Languedoc and Rouergue, the polynuclearisation of the space is a fact which moreover characterizes the landscape ofthe XIIth century. The identification of a village structure on a square layout, often designed by an hagiotoponym, also indicates the originality of the micro- region, and would intro duce a survey allowing the local specificities of the Languedocian village regrouping to beemphasized progressively.L'étude approfondie d'un terroir communal du Languedoc central permet d'évoquer les étapes de la structuration villageoise médiévale. Le devenir des grands établissements de l'antiquité tardive, l'église perchée carolingienne, la villa cum turre, le castrum, le prieuré, la villa et la paroisse monastiques en constituent des paliers que l'enquête s'attache à décrire au moyen d'une approche diversifiée (étude des textes, des cadastres du XIXe s., prospections de surface, analyse monumentale, toponymie). Ce travail s'intègre par ailleurs dans l'étude d'une micro-région: le Lodévois et l'enclave nord-orientale de la vicomte biterroise. Il voudrait mettre en évidence le rôle des grands monastères d' Aniane et de Gellone dans l'élaboration du tissu villageois et paroissial local en nuançant l'impact du château dans ses capacités à regrouper l'habitat. Sur ces terres de transitions entre plaine littorale et arrière-pays montagneux du massif central, entre Languedoc et Rouer- gue, la polynucléarisation de l'espace est un fait qui marque encore le paysage du XIIe s. L'identification d'une structure villageoise sur plan carré, souvent désignée par un hagiotoponyme marque aussi l'originalité de la micro-région et voudrait introduire une réflexion qui permette de dégager progressivement les spécificités locales du regroupement villageois languedocien.Schneider Laurent.
