200 medieval and principally modern coins, found in the excavations of the Maubourguet church, have been inventored, and the untill now unknown items are commented on. Compared with the finds of the Saint-Orens (Villelongue, Hautes- Pyrénées) church, and with the treasures of the region, they complete and widen our knowledge of the Bearn coins in the XVIth-XVIIth century, and of the currency circulation in the Hautes-Pyrénées at this time. Finally, they give some indications of the possibilities that could be offered by the systematic publication of the coins found in church excavations, in order to support the hypothesis, till now suggested about the subsidiary coins circulation (quantity, speed and distribution circuits, counterfeiting.....
