The past activity of Saint Quentin-la-Poterie, which only recently died out, has for serueraî years inspired a renewaî of interest and hope in a dynamic revival. Besides research on the médiéval potteries of the immédiate région, digs of kilns and dumping grounds of modem and contemporary potters from 1976 and 1982 have also been analysed. Using these results a skeleton typology in chronological order of post-medieval production has been attempted. In order to manage better in the future the potters inheritance of Saint Quentin, a study ofthe chronological evolution of the village is under way, the better to determine the different periods in which various potteries were established.
