The philosophy of memory is a field in which both knowledge particular to the philosophy, as well as empirical evidence derived from the fields of cognitive psychology and the neurosciences, converge. One of the current problems within the philosophy of memory focus on the search for a precise definition of our episodic memories, that is, our memories from events of our past. One inescapable characteristic of any precise definition of episodic memories concerns its specific phenomenology.
