Pricing of banking services : how well is France performing ? Banks maintain comprehensive and multi-product business relationship with their customers. Their pricing structures enable them to transfer profits from one product to another through a system of cross-subsidization aimed at maximizing customer relationship profitability. An international price comparison of banking services shows that, unlike their foreign counterparts, French banks have developed, under regulatory pressures, cross-subsidies between products, with deposit products and cash management generating most of the profits.
