Western Banks aren't afraid by banking Eastern weaknesses The banking sector restructuring in Eastern Europe began in the early 1990's. However, a lot of works still remains : privatisation programs of the bigger banks aren't fully achieved and the regulation authorities aren't always efficient. While these two problems can't be solved easily, the author presents the other weaknesses and potential risk hanging over these banking systems such as : their small size and their too important merging of businesses ; the low level of real economy financing by banking system ; the important part of government securities in the banking balance sheet or the high level of loans...
