This paper attempts to examine the effectiveness of literary interpretations applied to literary texts. It demonstrates how critical approaches provide an in-depth analysis of the subjectivity of literary interpretations in addition to their objective view of literature. That is, critical approaches open new horizons for readers to grasp the core conceptual meaning of literary works which, in turn, make the receptive readers involved in the analytical process of their elements, such as plot, setting, narrative point of view, and characterization.
