Background: Nurse residency programs for ambulatory care are becoming increasingly popular as the need for ambulatory nurses increases. Ambulatory nurse residency programs should include hands-on practice through simulations or practice activities that increase confidence. The need for practice scenarios has been identified as a potential gap that could improve ambulatory nurse residency. Methods: A quality improvement project was developed to create simulations and hands-on practice for a newly developed ambulatory nurse residency program.
