líkami, kjarrblámi is an artistic research project that explores music improvisation and experimentation from many different angles. It finds grounding and structure within text and language, all the while acknowledging and working through the ambiguities that unavoidably entails. The point of view of a classically trained vocalist expanding her practice takes precedence, building on the experiences of more than a decade of voice and performance training. From this angle, the performing body becomes the moment-to-moment intersection of music, language, and meaning, grounded in the cultivation of awareness and listening.
