Innovación educativa usando tecnologías de información y comunicación. Una caracterización institucional

Introduction. As of the year 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic begins, technologies have been used as resources for instruction, beginning to be part of this new reality; at the University of Guayaquil various educational innovations have been included using technologies; however, what characteristics of innovative institutions are met? objective. To determine the characteristics of the innovative educational institutions that are fulfilled in the University of Guayaquil, from the perspective of the students of the Literature career of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Education Sciences. Methodology. A quantitative, descriptive, exploratory, field design, non-experimental, cross-sectional study was carried out. The population was 120 students of Literature from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Education Sciences. The technique used was the survey, a questionnaire was applied through Google Forms. Results. For 75% of the students, only sometimes do their teachers have the capacity to innovate using ICT; they carry out a constant investigation of new technologies by 40%; they express willingness to change their conceptions, attitudes and practices in 45.83%: they show commitment and willingness to face the challenges imposed in 48.33%; they carry out critical reflection processes in 52.50%; show openness to exchange with other teachers in 79.17%; and, they almost always foster an environment of collaboration and teamwork using ICT, by 85%. Conclution. The characteristics of innovative educational institutions are met only sometimes, with the exception of fostering an environment of collaboration and teamwork using ICT, which is almost always met. The benefits of using ICT as an innovative element in education are varied; however, a teacher training plan is necessary that includes motivation strategies for the use of these.Introducción. A partir del año 2020 cuando inicia la pandemia del Covid-19, las tecnologías han sido usadas como recursos para la instrucción, comenzando a formar parte de esta nueva realidad; en la Universidad de Guayaquil se han incluído diversas innovaciones educativas usando tecnologías; sin embargo, ¿Cuáles características de las instituciones innovadoras se cumplen? Objetivo. Determinar las características de las instituciones educativas innovadoras que se cumplen en la Universidad de Guayaquil, desde la perspectiva de los estudiantes de la carrera de Literatura de la Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación. Metodología. Se realizó una investigación cuantitativa, tipo descriptiva, exploratoria, con diseño de campo, no experimental, transversal. La población fue de 120 estudiantes de Literatura de la Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación. La técnica usada fue la encuesta, se aplicó un cuestionario a través de Google Forms. Resultados. Para el 75% de los estudiantes sólo algunas veces sus docentes tienen capacidad para innovar usando TIC; realizan una constante indagación de nuevas tecnologías en un 40%; manifiestan voluntad de cambiar sus concepciones, actitudes y prácticas en un 45,83%: muestran compromiso y voluntad ante los retos impuestos en un 48,33%; llevan a cabo procesos de reflexión crítica en un 52,50%; evidencian apertura al intercambio con otros docentes en un 79,17%; y, casi siempre fomentan un ambiente de colaboración y trabajo en equipo usando TIC, en un 85%. Conclusión. Las características de las instituciones educativas innovadoras se cumplen sólo algunas veces, a excepción del fomento de ambiente de colaboración y trabajo en equipo usando TIC, la cual se cumple casi siempre. Los beneficios del uso de las TIC como elemento innovador en educación son variados; sin embargo, es necesario un plan de capacitación docente que incluya estrategias de motivación para el uso de estas
