Que sabemos del síndrome post-covid: una revisión bibliográfica

Introduction: Currently, the pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has created a new concern in the health system, due to long-term systemic manifestations in patients who have been with this disease, defining it as a post-COVID-19 syndrome in 2020, given the persistence of symptoms requiring management that includes various specialties that give relief to the different discomforts manifested by the patient.  Objective: This article is conducted to know and describe about the post-COVID-19 syndrome with updated and useful information for the knowledge of health personnel who face this pathology. Methodology: A search was conducted in databases such as: MEDLINE/Pubmed, Google scholar, Springer, where information on this topic is found. Results: It is a pathology that presents a wide repertoire of symptoms that involves different organs which will depend on certain risk factors and the complications it had during the pathological process. There are biomarkers that in the future may become the gold standard for the diagnosis of post-COVID-19 syndrome, which will allow to verify the functioning of the organs that have been affected. Current studies propose beneficial therapies such as respiratory rehabilitation whose objective is to improve lung function. Discussion: At present it is not yet fully known the pathophysiological process by which persistent symptoms occur, however, studies show the probable causes and clinical picture that predispose to this disease, the same that will be attended at the first level of care and provide symptomatic treatment. Conclusion: The revolution in the health system caused by SARS-CoV-2 again evaluates the capacity of health professionals, so research describes this phenomenon as a post-COVID-19 syndrome.Introducción: En la actualidad la pandemia provocada por SARS-CoV-2 ha creado una nueva preocupación en el sistema de salud, debido a manifestaciones sistémicas a largo plazo en pacientes que cursaron con esta enfermedad, definiéndolo como síndrome post-COVID-19 en el 2020, ante la persistencia de síntomas requiriendo un manejo donde incluyan diversas especialidades que den alivio a las diferentes molestias manifestadas por el paciente. Objetivo: Este artículo se realiza con la finalidad de conocer y describir sobre el síndrome post-COVID-19 con información actualizada y útil para el conocimiento del personal de salud que se enfrente a esta patología. Metodología: Se realizó una búsqueda en bases de datos como: MEDLINE/Pubmed, Google scholar, Springer, donde se halla información acerca de este tema. Resultados: Es una patología que presenta un amplio repertorio de síntomas que involucra a diferentes órganos lo que va a depender de ciertos factores de riesgo y las complicaciones que tuvo durante el proceso patológico. Existen biomarcadores que al futuro pueden convertirse en el Gold estándar para el diagnóstico del síndrome post-COVID-19, que permitirá verificar el funcionamiento de los órganos que han sido afectados. Estudios actuales proponen terapéuticas beneficiosas como la rehabilitación respiratoria cuyo objetivo es mejorar la función pulmonar. Discusión: En la actualidad aún no se conoce por completo el proceso fisiopatológico por el cual se producen síntomas persistentes, sin embargo, estudios muestran las posibles causas y cuadro clínico que predisponen a esta enfermedad, los mismos que serán atendidos en el primer nivel de atención y proporcionar un tratamiento sintomático. Conclusión: La revolución en el sistema de salud provocada por el SARS-CoV-2 nuevamente pone en prueba la capacidad de profesionales de la salud, por lo que investigaciones describen este fenómeno como síndrome post-COVID-19
