All literature is political since it is always written from a place, from a certain ideological position. There is no such thing as literature in general, or poetry in particular, that is innocent or uncompromising since no one writes from a vacuum. Based on this affirmation, the categories of the political and commitment are addressed, and then the focus is placed on the role played by the current of critical consciousness poetry as a unifier of the various poetics of conflict that have developed in Spain from the late eighties to the present day and which stand today as dissident or antagonistic poetics with respect to the hegemonic system that dominates us.
