Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Hutan Melalui Peningkatan Peran Industri Kecil Dan Menengah (IKM) Berbasis Tanaman Produktif Di Sekitar Hutan (Studi Kasus Masyarakat Hutan Kabupaten Nganjuk)

This research seeks to map the potential profits of Porang farming, opportunities and challenges from the side of farming and to find the ideal IKM model that can improve Porang farming. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection methods through observation, interviews and documentation, while the data analysis techniques include: Explorative farming income analysis techniques and root causes analysis (RCA). The results of this study indicate, First, the potential profit level of postharvest processing of Porang in Nganjuk Regency, shows that selling porang in the form of chips is up to 3 times more profitable than selling it in a wet state. Second, the challenges of post-harvest Porang farming and processing include: (i) The low enthusiasm of farmers in processing porang into chips, (ii) The character of farmers who are less concerned about market information, (iii) The character of farmers who are less concerned about farmer institutions. Third, there are three aspects that must be carried out by small and medium industry (IKM), namely (i), IKM must pay attention to the supply of Porang raw materials without destroying the function of the forest, (ii) Capital partners are needed to fulfill farmers' capital needs, and (iii) Trade partners are needed that function in ensure marketing. small and medium industry
