PENERAPAN KONSEP IPA PADA PEMBUATAN PUPUK KOMPOS ORGANIK DI AGROTECHNOPARK UNIVERSITAS JEMBER

Pembuatan pupuk kompos organik merupakan salah satu upaya dalam mengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia yang berlebihan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan konsep IPA khususnya pada proses pembuatan pupuk kompos organik. Penerapan konsep IPA dapat diamati dalam proses pengolahan pupuk kompos yang pengolahannya berbantuan dengan teknologi mesin pengolah pupuk dan proses fermentasi hingga menjadi produk pupuk kompos organik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode wawancara serta pengamatan secara langsung di Agrotechnopark Universitas Jember. Hasil penelitian mengenai penerapan konsep IPA pada proses pembuatan pupuk kompos terdapat kaitannya pada materi pesawat sederhana (tuas pengungkit, bidang miring), penerapan gaya gesek dan gaya otot, perubahan fisika, dan proses fermentasi pupuk kompos.  Making organic compost is one of the efforts to reduce the excessive use of chemical fertilizers. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the IPA concept, especially in the process of making organic compost. The application of the IPA concept can be observed in the processing of compost with the assistance of fertilizer processing machine technology and the fermentation process to produce organic compost. This research was conducted using interview methods and direct observation at the Jember University Agrotechnopark. The research results regarding the application of the natural science concept to the composting process are related to simple plane materials (lever levers, inclined planes), the application of frictional and muscle forces, physical changes, and the compost fermentation process
