Abstract Water is very important for the survival of living things in this world. Therefore, there is a need to balance the need and availability of water, including the need for water in agricultural areas where the water taken from the river through irrigation channels must be balanced with the amount of water available. Irrigated rice farming relies on the availability of water on irrigation channels as the main source to irrigate all the needs of the rice fields and determine the yields. However, in the irrigation channel area is often found problems of water pollution by the surrounding community waste and soil degradation by rain water. There is a need for soil and water conservation techniques so that watershed areas can be used productively
