Peningkatan Pemahaman Hak Atas Kekayaan Intelektual Bagi Pelaku UMK Di Kelurahan Sendangmulyo

Small businesses are productive economic enterprises that operate independently, conducted by individuals or business entities that are not subsidiaries or branches owned, controlled, or part of medium or large enterprises that meet the criteria of small businesses as defined in the law. To enhance the potential of the creative economy, there are many aspects that need to be considered by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) practitioners. One important aspect for MSMEs is to protect the intellectual property rights of their products, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and industrial designs. Legal protection for intellectual property rights in Indonesia has not been given serious attention. The specific challenges faced by MSMEs in the Sendangmulyo Village, Semarang City, are: (1) low understanding of intellectual property rights among MSME practitioners in Sendangmulyo Village, and (2) low number of MSME practitioners who have obtained intellectual property rights. The proposed solution is to enhance the understanding of MSME practitioners in Sendangmulyo Village, Semarang City, by teaching them how to register intellectual property rights online using mobile devices. Factors contributing to the low registration of intellectual property rights or trademarks among MSME practitioners in Sendangmulyo Village include the low understanding of the benefits of intellectual property rights among MSME practitioners and the cost of registration for MSMEs. MSME practitioners still perceive the trademark registration process at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights as too complicated for them. After conducting the Community Service Program (PKM) and raising awareness through socialization about trademark registration based on Law Number 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications, MSME practitioners understood and became interested in registering their products. Following the implementation of this community service activity, there was a 54.6% increase in understanding. Usaha kecil adalah usaha ekonomi produktif yang berdiri sendiri, yang dilakukan oleh orang perorangan atau badan usaha yang bukan merupakan anak perusahaan atau bukan anak cabang yang dimiliki, dikuasai atau menjadi bagian, baik langsung maupun tidak langsung, dari usaha menengah atau usaha besar yang memenuhi kriteria usaha kecil sebagaimana dimaksud dalam undang-undang tersebut. Untuk meningkatkan potensi ekonomi kreatif, ada banyak aspek yang perlu diperhatikan oleh pelaku UMK. Salah satu aspek penting bagi pelaku UMK, yaitu memberi perlindungan kekayaan intelektual produknya, baik itu merek, paten, hak cipta, maupun desain industri. Perlindungan hukum terhadap HKI di Indonesia belum menjadi perhatian yang serius. Permasalahan yang dihadapi khususnya bagi Kelompok UMK di Kelurahan Sendangmulyo Kota Semarang adalah (1) rendahnya pemahaman pelaku UMK di Kelurahan Sendangmulyo akan Hak atas Karya Intelektual. (2) rendahnya pelaku UMK yang telah memiliki Hak atas Kekayaan Inteletual. Solusi yang ditawarkan dengan peningkatan pemahaman kepada pelaku UMK di Kelurahan Sendangmulyo Kota Semarang. Mengajarkan kepada pelaku UMK, bagaimana melakukan pendaftaran HKI melalui gawai/online. Faktor yang menyebakan rendahnya pendaftaran HaKI atau merek bagi pelaku UMK di Kelurahan Sendangmulyo. Selain faktor rendahnya pemahaman dari pelaku UMK atas manfaat HaKI, faktor biaya pendaftaran HaKI bagi pelaku UMKM. Pelaku UMK masih menganggap bahwa proses pendaftaran merek di Dirjen HKI masih terlalu rumit buat mereka. Setelah dilakukannya (PKM) yang dilakukan dengan melakukan sosialisasi terkait dengan Pendaftaran Merek berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2016 tentang Merek dan Indikasi Geografis, pelaku UMK memahami dan tertarik untuk mendaftarkan produk UMK mereka. Setelah dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini tercatat ada peningkatan pemahamam sebesar 54,6 %
